Description
Located in northwestern Italy near the Italian Alps, Piedmont is home to two of Italy’s more famous wines: Barolos and Barbarescos. Each of these wines are made with the Nebbiolo grape, which is the premier red grape in the region. Other red grapes of note used in Piedmont include Barbera and Dolcetto. Among white wine grapes used in Piedmont are Moscatos, which are increasing in popularity here in the US. Piedmont’s capital city Torino is also home to large productions of Vermouth, also made from Moscato.
