Description
Bright yellow. Pungent mineral-driven aromas of menthol and crushed stone. Fine-grained and concentrated, with a lovely touch of sweetness supported by impeccable acid balance. A bit reduced today but already conveys excellent breadth and an impression of rocky density. Finishes with lovely length and lift.
(I also sampled the two main components of Jean-Pierre Cournut’s village Chassagne but it was too early to get an accurate idea of the ultimate blend. The sample from the Puligny side showed lovely citrus and mineral cut and refinement but the other major component was too reduced to taste.)
