Description
The Le Clos is sourced from less than an acre on a granite slope at the south end of Tournon. Chapoutier first began to bottle it in 2011 when the new winery gave him the ability to micro-vinify the roughly 200 cases of Le Clos made every vintage. Grown on brown soils derived from coarse-grained, black mica granite that is fractured and locally altered, this wine offers mineral and floral notes with great length. Le Clos joins the increasingly popular ranks of Chapoutier’s Saint-Joseph single parcel wines.
Soft, rich and elegant on entry. Very fine, silky tannins. Long-lingering finish and aromatic notes reminiscent of the granite terroir.
