Stags’ Leap Napa Valley Merlot Red Wine is crafted with fruit from Oak Knoll, Oakville, and our very own Stags Leap District. The palate is fleshy, rich, and full, with mouthwatering fruit flavors, polished structure, and soft, velvety tannins, leading to a lengthy finish. It is a well-balanced wine that shows the true elegance of Merlot. Established in 1893, Stags’ Leap Winery is one of the oldest California wine estates within the acclaimed Stags Leap District. A unique terroir and ideal microclimate support a classical standard of viticulture, land use, and winemaking that is as relevant today as it was over a century ago.

With freshness emphasizing its southern Napa origins, Stags’ Leap Merlot shows tons of juicy black cherry and dark plum fruit alongside sarsaparilla notes of vanilla, caramel and allspice, giving a rich warmth to the nose. Savory, sweet herbal elements, (almost Jägermeister-like), of cherry kirsch, bittersweet chocolate, black licorice, cola and chaparral floral blossom, thyme, mint and rosemary, also sit alongside sweet baking spicenotes, imparted from the oak ageing.
