Description
This wine is made from 100% Portuguiser, a variety commonly known as Blauer Portugieser in Germany and Austria, where it is widely-planted. This varietal can produce wines that are lively, with good color, acid, and body.
Though the name suggests Portuguese origins, there has been no evidence supporting this claim.
This wine is produced by Machkov Podrum, changed to “Agrina” for US imports, and made with grapes from the Fruška Gora region in northern Serbia. The wine is bright and fresh with black cherry, black berry, and hint of earth and pepper. It is low-acid, juicy, and has a medium-light body.
