Description
After the 2016 vintage, which was exceptional in every respect, 2017 was a challenge. The year in Tuscany was marked by heat and drought. The winemakers were particularly challenged and, due to the record temperatures and the earliest harvest ever, could not rely on any empirical values. The Riserva from Casaloste, which shines despite the difficult conditions, is certainly accessible earlier than its predecessor, so enjoyment is available earlier.
The aging in barriques for at least 14 months has already let the tannins become tender. In the bouquet, wonderful cherry fruit, surrounded by earthy and stony undertones. Fine Sangiovese style on the palate with cocoa, liquorice and spicy notes. Subtle dark chocolate in the finish, already amazingly accessible.
