Complant Napa Valley Chardonnay Linda Vista Vineyard 2020

From the producer: The fruit for our Chardonnay is sourced from the certified organic Linda Vista Vineyard, located just northwest of the city of Napa. It is owned by Steve Matthiasson, a well-known Napa grower who is also a good friend of Sam’s. The grapes were harvested on August 21 and pressed whole cluster, then fermented in neutral Burgundy barrels using indigenous yeast and malolactic bacteria.

The wine was aged on its lees for 7 months and bottled without filtration in August 2021. A nose of white flowers, apple blossoms, lychee, lime zest and camembert rind gives way to a lightly creamy mid-palate with flavors of honey, caramel, lily and alyssum. It has a long finish ending with a refreshing note of natural acidity.
