Description
Limpid and brilliant, the Domaine’s Chapelle-Chambertin has a woody vanilla nose with a slight floral touch. On the palate, its controlled and subtle tannins ensure elegance, subtlety and a majestic quality and its aromatic subtle fruit, spices and wood. Its pure features convey plenty of style. The tannins are tender and supple. However, we are brought back to order by its complexity and mineral liveliness on the finish.
Chapel-Chambertin goes well with a haunch of venison, a deer fillet with boletus mushrooms or a woodcock with chestnuts.
Generous but not dominant wood and menthol notes fight somewhat with the otherwise fresh black cherry and pungent earth aromas. The round and naturally sweet medium-bodied flavors brim with both plenty of dry extract and a fine minerality that continues onto the seductively textured and relatively fine if youthfully austere finish.
