Duca di Salaparuta winery Duca di Salaparuta’s “Passo delle Mule” is made from pure nero d’avola grapes, harvested on the sinuous, breezy hills of the Suor Marchesa Estate in inland southern Sicily, where the grapes ripen fully in the late September sun. A wine of great envelopment and delightful complexity, it matures in barriques and ages at length in the bottle.Tasting Notes.:Ruby red color. The nose is intense and enveloping; fruity notes of morello cherry and raspberry dominate, followed by more complex notes of spice and vanilla. The palate is rich, broad and velvety, with great structure and aromatic persistence, and austere but graceful tannins.
