Description

Pretty much exactly what Mercurey should be – a ripe, mouthfilling, Pinot Noir with a slightly rustic charm and 3-5 years of cellar potential all at an affordable price. This is nicely ripe with dark, fleshy, Bing and pie cherry fruit and accents of crushed flowers, fresh earth, and spice. The year in used oak has rounded off the rough edges, but there’s still a pleasing, hearty, grip and fine freshness on the fleshy finish. Roast a chicken and dig in.

Crisp and refreshing, this wine is well textured, with just a hint of toastiness. Pear and white-peach flavors are balanced by brightness to give a wine that is complete, full of flavor and likely to be ready from 2020.

Pale gold colour. Good intensity on the nose, mix of ripe fruit, toasted and mineral nuances. Very appealing, the wine possesses a natural balance that highlight the clean and ripe fruit. Soft texture and lovely finish.

To pair with salmon, foie gras or light cheese.
