Description
This is one of the strongest reds of Savigny, with aromas and flavors of red berries and elegant tannins. It will develop in the bottle for 8 to 12 years. The commune of Savigny-lès-Beaune is in the north of the Côte de Beaune and produces 90% red wines. Les Vergelesses is located on the sloping hillside of Bois Noël, near the Pernand vineyards, facing south on light, well-draining soils. The Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in vats for up to 4 weeks, and then the wine is matured in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months before bottling.
